And once again, EXPO 2020 in Dubai does that quite well.

From London 1851 to Dubai 2020
History of EXPOs and World's Fairs:
World exhibitions look back on a tradition of more than 170 years.
In London, it all began in 1851 at the Crystal Palace.
Famous stations at the beginning of the history were the world exhibitions in Paris with the Eiffel Tower, several EXPOs in Barcelona, Brussels or other European metropolises.
After that, the World's Fairs moved through the USA. There they were known as "World's Fair" and even hosted the Olympic Games at one point, so that they could benefit from the fame of the World's Fairs and thus also gain some more attention.
Hard to imagine from today's perspective.
From the west, it then went east. Japan was the first host of a world exhibition in Asia in 1970 with Osaka.
At the time, this EXPO enjoyed greater popularity than any before it, breaking the previous attendance record with its motto of "Progress and Harmony for Mankind". Over 64 million held the record until the Shanghai EXPO in 2010.
This was broken in China at the first World Expo in the Middle Kingdom, which attracted over 73 million visitors.
The only world exhibition in Germany to date was held in Hanover.
In 2000, about 18 million people gathered here in six months.
In 2015, the World Expo once again returned to Europe. In Milan, the main focus was on the topic of nutrition.
In 2021, a world exhibition made its debut in the Arab region for the first time. In Dubai, EXPO 2020 opened a year late due to the Corona pandemic.

"made in Germany" was a reaction of EXPO 1896. But it wasn't brought to life by the Germans. Opposite it was a sign from Uk to mark the poor quality of German products. Since then a lot has changed.
