Serbia will host EXPO 2027 Belgrade

Read here all information about the election of Belgrade as EXPO 2027 Host.

There were five applications for EXPO 2027 or 2028 for the next Specialised EXPO.

The applicants came from North America (USA), Asia (Thailand), two from Europe (Serbia and Spain) and South America (Argentina).

The list of candidates was closed on January 28, 2022 and the decision to host EXPO 2027 Belgrade was made on June 21, 2023 in Paris at the General Assembly of B.I.E..

Thus, the following candidates have been determined:

Candidates are arranged in the order of applications received.

1. USA - Minnesota
2. Thailand - Phuket
3. Serbia - Belgrade
4. Spain - Malaga
5. Argentina - San Carlos de Bariloche

EXPO 2027-28 applications are now entering the next round.

The current application phase ends with the vote at the B.I.E. General Assembly, probably in June 2023.

Then determined which candidate will be awarded the hosting of the next Specialised EXPO in 2027 or 2028.

As the first candidate Minnesota from the USA submitted its application in July 2021.

The second candidate is Phuket in Thailand. The official application was submitted to the Bureau International des Expositions (B.I.E.) in Paris on Jan. 11, 2022.

The first two candidates were followed by three others, also in January. In order by date, these are: Belgrade, Malaga and San Carlos de Bariloche.
