He also explains here the possibility for EXPO participating countries to communicate as a foreign nation to an audience in the host country.
And he criticizes the fact that this possibility is not used particularly well or sufficiently by all countries.

In further articles, the series on EXPOs from the Institute for Public Diplomacy will look at the origins of EXPOs, their international character, educational purpose, and the intergovernmental regulation of world's fairs.

It's always worth checking back here for more reports from the Institute for Public Diplomacy at EXPO 2020 Dubai.

So far also appeared here an Interview with the current Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri S. Kerkentzes.

The B.I.E. is the intergovernmental organization responsible for the supervision and regulation of world exhibitions.

One can find an article about the importance of world exhibitions today and in particular about the importance of EXPO 2020 Dubai by Dr. Jian (Jay) Wang, the director of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy:

The archives of USC's Institute for Public Diplomacy contain a variety of scholarly reports on previous World's Fairs.

E.g. for EXPO 2010 Shanghai, EXPO 2012 Yeosu, EXPO 2015 Milan and EXPO 2017 in Astana.
